Take Action

You can help by being willing to speak up to help a child in need, and through volunteering at organizations that help abused children. You can share your expiriences with violence to help others gain the courage to speak up (even anonymously), and to decrease the stigma around reporting child abuse. Here are some resources you can volunteer at, and places you can report child abuse:

- The following link directly to each respective organization's child abuse resources: CDC.gov, AACAP (organization), Child Help (organization), childwelfare.gov , Prevent Child Abuse (organization), and National Children's Advocacy Center (organization).

- For reporting immediate cases, call (or text) the 24/7 Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline: 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453). To call CPS (Child Protection Services) for your state, here is a pdf of each state's number, website, and whether the number has 24/7 availability.
